Alan Dooley’s primary passions are writing and web design. In April of this year, he participated in Script Frenzy, involving the writing of a meaty 100 pages in a lean 30 days. He is a regular blogger of all things, in his words, perspective related – that of his own and the people encountered in his daily life in Dublin.
Huan Zhang is a second year Interior Furniture and Design student at the Dublin Institute of Technology. Originally from China, Huan moved to Dublin along with her family four years ago. She has been studying traditional Chinese painting since the age of 6 and is looking forward to her first solo exhibition in the coming months.
Jonathan Meyers is a socially engaged artist living and working in Dublin. He has been involved with Rialto Youth Project since the age of 8 leading to his participation in its What’s the Story? Collective and a residency in Studio 468 in the spring of 2012.
Shanshan GU (Susan) lived in the Northeast of China until she moved to Dublin three years ago. Susan is very involved with the Chinese community on her campus at the American College – she came to the attention of the Chester Beatty Library through her participation in a dance performance in Dublin’s Chinese New Year Festival in spring 2012.
Thidung Luu (Lee) was born in the Guangxi Province several kilometers from the border between China and Vietnam, where he grew up speaking Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese. He arrived in Dublin thirteen years ago as a primary school student and has since graduated from an Interior Design degree programme in Griffith College Dublin. His specific interests lie in architecture and design process.
Marie Charlier is a BA Connect with film studies student at the National University of Ireland, Galway. Her film work has been recognised by the French-German youth section of the 2010 Cannes Film Festival’s Critic’s Week and exhibited as part of the Red Bird youth organisation’s group show Sample with Fiona Hession and Louise Manifold in the Galway Arts Centre in spring 2012.
